Our land is full of cultural and culinary attractions, not to mention the marvellous views of the landscape. There are so many options for every interest and taste that there’s an embarrassment of riches to choose from. We can help by offering you our recommendations and making some special suggestions just for you!
Our personal TOP TEN
The Staller Saddle in the Antholz-Anterselva valley. The pass is closed to traffic from late autumn to spring and is used as a footpath and toboggan run. Lying on the banks of Lake Constance, a charming, tranquil place, the Hotel Berggasthaus is the perfect spot for a relaxing break.
The Anterselva Camping Site Restaurant – with its welcoming rooms and great local cuisine. The restaurant can also be reached on a pleasant walk through the Antholz-Anterselva valley by the riverside (15 min.) The evening walk back is along an illuminated road that leads to the village.
The Dorfmüllerhof – an old-style farm with tavern in Anterselva di Sotto. Welcoming rooms. Family-run business. Delicious local cuisine with ingredients almost entirely produced locally. Around 2 km away.
In the footsteps of world champions – for lovers of the biathlon in the Anterselva Arena in Alto Adige. Where else but in Anterselva…? Biathlon instructors will give you a guided tour of the stadium, offering rare glimpses of the breathtaking countryside, and will test your personal biathlon skills on the shooting range (weekly).
The Antholzer See (Lago di Anterselva) (1640 m). This is regarded as the one of the most beautiful lakes in the Alps and the third largest in Alto Adige. The lake freezes in the winter and can be used as a cross-country ski run and winter pathway (about 5 kilometres away)
An excursion on snowshoes with Günther. An excursion on snowshoes off the beaten path through a snow-covered winter landscape, in touch with your inner self and nature.
The Prato Piazza in the Braies Valley – a plateau at an altitude of 2000 metres in the Dolomites of Braies – is the perfect destination for nature and mountain lovers all year round. In winter, the options include walking trails, treks on snowshoes and cross-country skiing.
The restaurant is open all year round. With certain limitations, it is possible to reach the Hochalm refuge by car or public transport (around 30 minutes away).
The Oberhof dairy in Antholz. This little dairy offers a sophisticated selection of their cheeses. A must for cheese lovers. The dairy has a small shop.
Winter excursions and tobogganing. Alternatives to winter sports emerged from the shadows long ago. Antholz-Anterselva and its neighbouring valleys offer a wide variety of winter excursions and toboggan trips: Steinzger Alm, Staller Saddle, Uwald Alm (Valle di Casies), Ascht Alm (Valle di Casies) and many others. We are available to give you our recommendations.
